HOW TO APPLY
NEW/FIRST-TIME STUDENTS
Applying is easy if you follow these steps:
1. Fill out your application form. To do this, you have two options:
• Pay the application fee of $75 and do it on your own. OR
• Schedule an appointment to fill in your form with one of our recruiters and obtain a fee waiver.
2. Request your high school transcripts, from ninth grade to your last year. Your institution needs to send your official transcripts, translated into English, as a PDF. Note: If you turn in any documentation or transcripts yourself, they will be considered unofficial.
3. Prove your English proficiency. The university accepts TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, Cambridge CPE, CAE, or Duolingo exam scores as proof of your English ability.
Students from certain U.S.-accredited high schools, holders of a passport from a specific list of English-speaking countries, and applicants who scored better than 500 on the SAT Reading and Writing section may be exempt from this requirement. Contact our Student Recruitment department (info.costarica@ttu.edu) to find out.
4. SAT or ACT scores are optional, but they help a lot, especially if you want to major in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Management. Students should send results to Texas Tech, Lubbock. If you take the ACT, the TTU code is 4220.
